Jivaro Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading Australian women’s fashion brand that has grown from strength to strength and is now looking at adding an Assistant Accountant due to company growth. Full time permanent position located on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to support the finance team and to:
  • Maintain precise and current financial records by recording transactions, verifying entries, and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Handle all accounts payable duties, includes processing invoices, payments, and receipts in Xero
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts and promptly address any discrepancies.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis as required. Provide financial information to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist in preparing and filing GST returns and other regulatory filings as necessary, including assistant.
  • Contribute to the implementation of new systems or procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy as the business grows.
  • Provide assistance to the finance team on various ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
  
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Assistant Accountant, or otherwise accounting/finance role, preferably in the retail or e-commerce sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
    Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and payment processing systems is advantageous.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CA is desirable but not mandatory.

The Role:
The Garment Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that the quality and fit of garments meet company standards. This role will involve working closely with design and production teams to develop and refine patterns, conduct fittings, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in garment construction, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fashion!

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and modify garment patterns based on design specifications and fit requirements.
  • Conduct fittings and provide feedback on fit, construction, and overall quality.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to resolve any fit or construction issues.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical specifications and measurement charts.
  • Review and approve pre-production samples to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Stay current on industry trends, materials, and construction techniques.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Garment Technician or similar role in the fashion industry.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and fit.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Adobe Illustrator.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development of seasonal merchandise strategy

  • Demonstrate comprehensive technical knowledge across various leather product types, collaborating with Product Engineering for testing and safeguarding the design vision.
  • Support production meetings at vendors, ensuring technical requirements for prototypes and samples are production-ready.

  • Possess technical expertise in garment construction, pattern cutting, fabric construction, denim washes, printing techniques, embroidery, and embellishment.
